Darren’s Story

This week, Darren told us how his Sinnis Terrain has changed his life.

Here’s my story of how I got into riding and it changed my lifestyle for good. I’m 55 years of age – get up, go to work, finish work, go home, go to bed, get up, go to work. Day in and day out, it’s always been the same routine. That is until one day in June major roadworks forced me to take a different route.

How did you get into riding?

Stuck in traffic, I glanced to the left and saw what I now know as a Sinnis Terrain in a dealership window. The style, the size, the colour – I just pulled over and walked into the showroom.

“Hi”, said the salesman, “would you care for a coffee?”

“Yeah, go on then… two sugars”.

“That’s the Sinnis Terrain”, he said. “Get on and try it out…”. And that was it, I was hooked.

I couldn’t believe the size of this 125cc. Signed on the dotted line then and there. Within a week it was mine – the motorcycle gear had been purchased,  the CBT had been completed, the insurance and tax were arranged.

That first ride from the dealership home was the longest – purely due to the enjoyment. I went everywhere and anywhere. And I suppose I haven’t stopped since.

I live near the northeast coast and it’s just amazing riding up and down the coastal roads. It’s not just the same thing over and over again now. It’s out on the bike, up the Pennines, over the lakes, and complete freedom for myself.

I was also totally surprised to see how many guys my age were on bikes when I started getting out. We meet and go out in groups, chat about life, and have great laughs. And then there are the accessories… oh my – the accessories. I have added spotlights, handguards, camera, headset, a heightened screen. It’s never-ending.

All I get now from the wife is, ” you think more of that bike than you do of me”.

I don’t usually agree with her it but I think this time she might be right…
